The long and winding road

It has been almost 4 months since our trek across the States and already it seems so far in the distant past. This trip has remained close to me throughout these past few months. I've been constantly viewing and editing footage; which makes it harder for memories to fall out of my head. I recount stories and ponder lessons learned. In so many ways, and I know it's cliche, being out on the road is a metaphor for life itself. I'll spare you the obvious associations, but the side of the road is a good place to contemplate life and witness it as well.
I couldn't tell you exactly where I took this picture, though it symbolizes a significant portion of American landscape. There is something striking about this photo that lies in the symmetry, the asymmetry, the shapes, the lines, the expansiveness, the reminder of man vs. nature; even in the middle of nowhere.
